DriverMax has a free version. It backs up your old drivers, catalogues them, and does driver updates. Easy to turn off if it isn't something you want running all the time. Pretty easy to use.

Driver Fetch sounds fine. Complaints I've read don't sound different than for anything else, and maybe some have to do with the app not being super user-friendly. Never used it myself, so don't know. But it looks like it costs 40 bucks. So, maybe not worth the 40 if you can do something similar for free.
