Is it possible to delete domains in NT

Hi,
I have a lot of unecessary domains in my network and would like to move the servers in to one main domain and delete the other domains. Is this possible? Please advise how I go about this. The reason I want to do this is so that I can upgrade to active directory and only want 1 domain.
