Is it really possibile to spoil video at BIOS startup phase via SW

By philns ·
Is it really possible to spoil the display capability already at BIOS laptop boot phase, by removing video drivers from Windows XP Operating system ?
Which was last action (software remove video card from configuration, from card->advanced->driver->remove) before system display show just granular dots all over the LCD at startup.

Have to understand if there's a way to recover proper view of the screen or hardware repair is needed.

At BIOS level there are no video drivers loaded

so removal of video drivers would not yet be applied to the system.

I'm puzzled by what you describe as granular dots. Has the resolution dropped in some way?

Have you tried Safe Mode - picking the 'Last Known Good Configuration' option?

If you are getting a distorted Picture at POST

You have a hardware issue because at that stage there is nothing loaded.

Removing a HDD so that there is none installed should make no difference at this stage to the display that you get on the screen.
