Is it Vista or what?

By Zarkonn ·
Hi all..
I recently installed Vista on my computer {Dell Dimension E310-P4 1gig ram etc..) And although my internal and external CD / DVD Drives both worked for a day after, they are no longer being recognized by my system. I can see them in 'Devices' and yes they have an exclamation mark next to them. My external DVD/CD Drive is generic and came with no software.. and was automatically...(plug N play) .. recognized and worked great until I installed vista. The DVD / CD internal drive also worked great until Visata.... Can someone help me with a possible place to get drivers?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Most CD/DVD drivers will be the built in ones so no extra ones are required.
Its probably the old Filter problem that has plagued Windows XP.
You need to edit the Registry to remove the Low & High Filters to get them to appear:

I have a new computer with Vista

I have had many problems with my computer so far; one problem being that out of the blue both my DVD Drives Disappeared. The computer no longer recognized them as existing at all. I called support and it was fixed by deleting something off my computer; unfortunately I can't recall what. The Tech however was supprised because one of the items he said to delete; was not on my computer. My Suggestion either get help from your computers company if you can or download drivers as you said.
