IS Manager Bonus plan?

My Director wants to figure out a way to give me a bonus. Sounds great, but on what criteria can a IS Manager recieve a bonus? If anyone out there gets a bonus based on performance, what criteria do you use? Please help

I have participated in and heard of several ways of setting up bonuses per performance. Here is one that I helped implement in several places that works great.

1. Have a list of high priority and then wish list projects for the year (or whatever time period) made by the director. Have the director give ALL projects a point value (i.e. 1-10) Have a max bonus amount agreed on as well.

2. Assuming you'll do all the high priority projects first or at least completed by year end, any items done on the wish list will 'pay off' as bonus work. If you have items on the high priority still uncompleted, the Director subtracts points for these.

3. The pay off at the year end is equal to the percentage of the total possible bonus points that you achieve, i.e. out of 40 points, you make 10, so you get 20% of the max bonus amount.

Of course both of you will want to look over and review the list. Projects can also be goals set by the directors,i.e. if you work help desk, the percentage and/or time problems are resolved successfully is improved, etc..
