Is my CPU bad?

I got a system from a friend I had to ram and a cdrom but when I booted up it said
"CPU in usable or has changed" Should I get a new chip?

This maybe due to the fact that the frien was overclocking the CPU,check the cpu to make sure what cpu you have in the system.

Boot computer,when you see the startup screen,press the designated key to enter CMOS panel to BIOS,in the configurationpanel set the cpu setting to same as installed,save and exit,reboot

It is because you have a different CPU installed. Just go to the CMOS settings and look for CPU settings and set accordingly. Like answer 1. Make sure you save B4 exit.
