Is Plug and Play dead?

By jrbjr ·
I am interested in installing Windows XP once it has been officially released. I have a few Plug and Play hardware devices and want to know if they will be supported in Windows XP Home Edition?

As in every other case with hardware it depends. Check with vendor they should have a compatible list of plug and play devices.

Microsoft usually releases a hw compatibility list with a new os. Check on their knowledge base for info on supported hw prior to release of xp.

Microsoft will have a compatibiliy list. I'd check that before purchasing XP. On the other hand, I've heard that XP's Plug & Play is a lot better compared to previous versions of Windows. To be honest with you I wouldn't worry about anything, but it's always a good idea to check the the list anyway.
