I had to replace my hard drive and since installing it (Maxtor ATA 40 gig + Maxtor Ultra ATA/133 PCI Adaptor Card)my Pc seems to be working fine with the exception of connecting to the internet. I am able to connect and the web page appears but with in less than a min. Everything freezes. Mouse and Keyboard no longer respond and I have to power off the PC. I was having a slow response from my mouse when online before the hard drive died.
I thought it might be an IRQ conflict but can’t seem to find anything.
The modem is a Lucent Win Modem 56 V.90 Data + Fax version 5.39.
I tried assigning it to a different com port but the PC won’t see it there.
