Is this possible? if so.. how?

By Chris Hardy ·
Hi,

I currently am involved in setting up a training lab.
What i'd like to do is to replace the room full of PCs running windoze with a room full of PCs running linux. (possibly even linux terminal server).

Does anyone know of a package that will allow a 'central' terminal to take control of all the machines in a room, so that i can demonstrate an activity. At the moment, people are trying to persuade me that sticking with Windows and RM's schools package is the best option.
I know that(for me) linux is the better option.. cheaper too!

Thanks in advance.

Chris

Hi Chris,

Not sure on the Central Terminal control scenario. Have you looked at VNC?
It's multi-platform compatible, including Linux

VNC is something i already use.. unfortunately it can only control 1 machine at a time, and even then only display the users screen - not a central terminal.

Thanks for trying

Again, thanks for trying.. but this has no screen-control facility.

I just stumbled on your question, and although it is a year later, LANSchool http://lanschool.com/ does what you are asking although it is only for Windows 95/98, Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
