With the rise of AI-powered tools and low-code/no-code platforms, software development is becoming more accessible to non-programmers. Many businesses are now building applications without writing extensive code, which raises an interesting question—will traditional coding eventually become obsolete?

As a developer, I often wonder about the long-term impact of these technologies. Will advanced AI models take over complex programming tasks? Or will traditional coding always be essential for performance, security, and customization?

Have you worked with low-code or AI-assisted development? Do you think it’s the future, or is it just a trend?
Would love to hear your thoughts!

Yes. At some point the project will need someone that knows not to subscript/index a pointer.

I believe AI will most certainly leave a lasting impact on development, but will not completely eradicate the need for manual coding. Important tasks will still need people to go in and check code for obvious vulnerabilities or oversights the AI might have missed. I think of it as more of speeding up the process, rather than replacment.
