A friend of mine told me that WMP, starting with
version 7.0, sends detailed harddrive info back
to Microsoft everytime you use it. Supposedly, it
defeats your firewall. I find this hard to believe.
I run Ad-aware 6.0 & Spybot-S&D on a regularbasis, and zapped a couple of “data miners” in WMP 9. My ZoneAlarm blocks WMP from internet access.
A professionals opinion would be appreciated.
