I have a 5 PC system linked together on an 8 port hub all running Windows 98 SE. One PC has a USB Terminal Adaptor for our ISDN line.
The system is set up to allow file and printer sharing, but we want to be able to send and receive e-mails, and access the Internet, from any PC via the ISDN. At the moment, we can only send and receive e-mails via the PC directly connected to the ISDN line.
Should we be able to share this connection, ideally we would want to automate our e-mail sending such that the ISDN dialled to send and receive when our outbox got to, say, 2Mb or 10 messages, or every hour.
We are a small business and don’t want to spend mega-bucks on new servers and software, but also haven’t got time to trawl theInternet for lower cost software bolt-ons which may or may not give us what we need.
Can it be done, and if so what’s the likely budget?
