ISP or Virus causing Internet Connection Problem

What does causing my internet connection problem. every 4PM my internet connection shut down and resume every 15 mins. Last I done was I install a fresh Windows Home Edition and I updated it with SP3. I installed Anti-Virus Avira free edition. I reformated my pc because of conficker virus.

those lengths you should have wiped the drive with something like DBAN. Formatting won't remove very much. I would wipe the drive and start again.

Darik's Boot and Nuke.

Autonuke should do it by running it at least 3 times.

Recreate your Partitions.

You mean I will recreate a partition using Darik's Boot and Nuke? So this could be a virus? We have a 40 Computers. I reformatted this using dos mode. What is the diff. using a third party software for partitioning and the usual partitioning in Windows installation. Thanks

will overwrite the hard drive filling it with 0's and 1's completly wiping the drive of information. You then create new Partitions, Format and install the OS without having to worry about a reinfection. Any traces of the Viral infection should be annihilated.

When you format a drive you dont erase the information and it can easily be retrieved. It's the same when you delete a Partition the data can be recoverd with special software.

The number of infected Systems has gone up dramatically. I can't believe that so many wouldn't have the M$ updates. Were they applied before you ventured back onto the Internet.
