IT calendar

By ·
I need to create an IT calendar of events that show scheduled routine maintenance of devices in our network environment. ie. backups, password change, account audits, etc.

looking for some sort of template to get me started with this.

list every task that you want done daily.
separate list for weekly,
every 2 months,
3 months,
4 months,
5 months,
6 months.
there is your schedule
can't really draw up a template, as every system admin will have slightly different priorities.
such as: patches weekly? monthly?....
password expiration? daily? weekly? monthly? never?

Well guess what Microsoft has alot of great free templates. From thier site just type templates and pick what you need but read what program they run from. Some are word, excel but a few are for publisher and others that most companys do not use. I have saved six so far.

I agree with the previous poster about the slightly different schedules per system.

You may want to start with a network inventory solution which lets you gather the main system parameters (prod, test, dev equipment, priority of system ...) and start adding your maintenance schedule to the basic configuration.

We ( allow you to report/print the documented configuration but we do not offer a reportable maintenace schedule module.
