IT career in BC, Canada

I wonder about developing my career in BC (Canada). I am presently working for an international bank in Poland but there is an opportunity to move to Canada. But it is very difficult to find any information about IT in that region for me. I would like to get to know my market value as well as market opportunities, addresses of IT recruiting agencies, any legal (professional) requirements etc.

I'm not from BC, I'm from Toronto but I can give you a few pointers.

http://www.yellowpages.sympatico.ca is a Yellow pages or business directory for Canada. You can try searches on Vancouver or another BC city and Personnel Agencies - give a few a call and ask what the market is like.

Legal requirements are that you must be a landed immigrant, i.e. have gone through the appropriate process to get entry to Canada. You can contact your local consulate or look through the Goverment of Canada websites - most of it is online.

I'd look through Yahoo.ca as well.
Good luck. I know that the Toronto market is not too bad. Montreal is hot. Not sure about Vancouver.
