IT Debate: President Bush’s IT strategy

by debate . Updated 25 years, 2 months ago

In February, U.S. President George W. Bush submitted his budget proposal for fiscal 2002 to Congress. The plan?which emphasizes e-procurement, streamlining, and outsourcing?favors education and medical research, but other agencies with large IT budgets probably won’t fare as well.

What do you think of President Bush’s IT strategy? Vendors may stand to profit from President Bush?s IT priorities and his emphasis on outsourcing, but do you think it’s the best choice for the country? What do youthink about the practicality of his plans for outsourcing and e-procurement? As an IT professional, which issues do you feel the president should focus on?
