IT Mgr Leaving - Need IT Consultant Help

Our current IT Mgr is "leaving" after 12+ years w/ company. I am to take over their responsibilities. Management has the foresight to hire an IT Consultant to assist in transition and be "on call" for 6 mos - 1 yr while I learn / train for new responsibilities. Question: I need to write a specification / scope of what we want the vendors to quote on - including emergency 24-7 availability, networking documentation, server, OS, etc. I have searched the TR site, and have come close but nothing definitive to help write an "IT Consultant Expectation" spec / list / contract.

Suggestions??

hired a specialised consultant for handover and then employed a someone on a short term contract to fulfil the current manager's responsibilities and mentor you.
The security specialists know waht they have to do in fact they are used to tell the company what they need to do. Some idea of the requirements of the current management position must already be available. Simpler all round.

My company does that sort of thing. We are an IT outsourcing company, and we have in the past helped "tide over" a company when a key player departed. We can get you up to speed and get everything right (documentation, policies, servers, pc's, inventory, patching, av statuses, etc...) Let me know if you are interested.
