I work as VP of Information Systems for a medium size bank (170mil asset). Anyone in the banking area knows that my title encompasses a wide variety of jobs from cabling, to putting up new cubicles to network administration. You get the picture. I have been with the same bank for 10+ years (6 in the IT area). I have a college education but no IT certications? Our bank is located in the midwest in a rural setting. We are 30 miles from a town of 75K people. I think I do my job well and am knowlegable in keeping all of our systems going. We habe a WAN network running NT 4.0 and about 100 workstations. Our bank software in running in a service bureau environment so that is not much of an issue. I have become alittle concerned over salary. My question is: What do you believe to be a fair salary for someone in my position? I want to make sure I am in the right salary range. We do have a 401K with 4% employer match against 5% of my dollars. I would like to know what type of base pay I should be getting compared to others in the same area. Thansk for the help.
