It should be so simple: I need more hard space!

I have what I at first thought was going to be a simple fix but instead, I now find myself in a real pickle.

I was handed a PC that had had too many aps added to it over time and was now out of hard drive space. The PC is running XP Pro, has 1 GB ram but is hobbled with a 30 GB hard drive. We have plenty of spare 200 GB drives so I dropped one in (Drive D) and then XCOPY’d everything from C to D.

The last step, I thought, was to reboot and hit the DEL key to enter the BIOS. Accessing the boot device section, I located the entry set to IDE-0 and changed it to IDE-1 (I set the next entry to IDE-0 just to be safe).

Well, you guessed it. It was too easy to work. Everything I copied is there but it just won’t boot from D.

Can you help me out of this? I do not want to ask them to install all of their applications from scratch. FYI: I also have a complete backup of C on an external USB 250 GB drive.

Thanks
