i've just installed windows 7 home premium on my laptop

and i entered the product key that came with my laptop but after 2 weeks a msg box appears tht says that the product key is no longer valid and tht i need to enter a new one...any suggestions??

usually it will work for 30 days.

activation is something that you have to do over the internet or by phone, and should have been prompted to complete.

If your Windows 7 disc came from the manufacturer as an upgrade, then it should have also included a new key. If the key you have on your laptop is in fact a Windows 7 key, that will necessitate that you install from that version of Windows 7 from an OEM disc. At any rate, there are far too many variables left unanswered in this equation.
1.) What product does the key on your laptop PID claim it is for?
2.) Where did you obtain or purchase the installation media (dvd) from?

The answers to both of these questions will enable us to complete your objective in the most cost-effective manner.
