Java Browsers

Can anyone tell me the purpose of Java Browsers?
What do they do (if anything) that eg. MS IE or Netscape do not?

If i'm not mistaken, Java Browsers are just a common browsers but written in Java programming language and with its object component model. (E.g. HotJava).

Or it a browser with built-in java support. In this case it doesn't differ from MS IE or Netscape.

certain applications would warrent a java browser.
a machine lacking in resources..(like palms)
and operating systems that are not capable of interacting with the browser correctly, like one you made in the garage...
things like that,,
If you can run IE or NS, then go ahead and run it, some machines can not...

If you are still tackling this problem, perhaps you should consider calling your local super-hero.
