java script issue

Hello all

I have a user who is having a problem with a site that has a log on button that has been coded in java script. The button seems inactive so we are unable to proceed. On the status bar it says Java Script:; , this happens in both AOL and IE. A alternative browser is not a option at the moment.

They are on XP home, AOL connection. with SR 2. So will be IE 6. The IE help doesn't advise of version or cipher strength so think AOL has modified.
We have added the site to the trusted sites and checked the active X controls and all seem fine. Only thing we are unable to determine is the firewall if there is one.

I have had a quick google search and the only other thing i can see that we haven't done is doing Start-->Run-->regsvr32 on a number of Dlls.

Does anyone have any further ideas before I get them to book a engineer to look at this??

We had a similar problem wwith one of our Saes Rep sights. some people saw the buttons and others could not. the ones that saw it had a program called FP Hover running at the bottom The site was set up with Front Page and this is a known problem with Front Page. the corrective action was to re-install the java virtual machine. a helpful site for doing this is:
If you think this is the same go there click "Check Installation".
good Luck

Agree with answer. If your java isn't working verify that it is installed (correctly) and enabled in the options. I looked at the site he mentions and it looks pretty good (I book-marked it myself for future reference).
