Java Virtual Machine with Win XP

by james r linn . Updated 24 years, 5 months ago

I have Win XP Pro at home, and when I surfed to a website with Java coding, it brough up the install on demand dialog to install the java virtual machine.

The download seemed fine, and the script finished fine, but stated it needed a reboot. Uponreboot, it gave me an error message stating that the install was not able to complete.

Trouble is, if I go back to that page, IE and/or the OS think that JVM is installed, as the Install on demand function isn’t activated.

This isn’t a piece of software I can uninstall from the add/remove software menu – how do I uninstall so I can try a reinstall.

James
