I have recently reformatted my computer and installed Windows XP on it. However, during the process of updating Windows, and installing application programs, I have lost some functionality in Internet Explorer. It no longer performs and Javascriptfunctions.
SYMPTOMS:
(1) Upon holding the mouse over a link and I observe that some links are performed by Javascript. When clicking on such link, Internet Explorer just sits there and does nothing.
(2) Some of the other applications that I use, such as RealOne, no longer perform specific tasks. In RealOne, after you install it, you’re suppose to get a login screen if you registered it. That screen pops up but it is completely blank; the only thing that I see is the window frame with RealOne in its title bar.
(3) Some of the help files that are used throughough Windows and various applications, use Javascripting to link other related help topics to the one your viewing. When you click on these, they fail to do anything.
Ihave installed all known updates for my version of Windows XP Home Edition AND Internet Explorer, and can find no solution. Is there a way to fix this without starting all over again?
