Jaz cartridge in new computer. . .

by aspiring_one . Updated 24 years, 10 months ago

I have a password-protected 1 GB Jaz cartridge that I created in a Windows 98 computer. I have since taken the Jaz drive and the SCSI controller out of that computer and physically installed it in another Windows 98 machine. I have installed the necessary software and drivers as well. The OS acknowledges the drive and appears to see it without any problem.

However, whenever I try to read the cartridge in the new computer, the system hangs and never prompts me to enter the password for the cartridge and when I right-click the drive letter to unprotect the disk, that option is greyed out. Any suggestions?

Sorry for posting this here, but I couldn’t get a response in the Win95/98 forum
