Jeopardy Game that runs through a LAN (multiplayer)

By lamontjames ·
I'm in deep s**t, and I need help. I was asked to come up with a LAN-based, multiplayer Jeopardy game with 2 types of program communicating: a server program (supposedly somethin' like Trebeck's game interface) and a client program (for each of the 40 contestants in a computer laboratory, with their spacebar as buzzers somthin' like that) IN FOUR WEEKS!

Could anyone help? I'm not sure if I'd use TCP or UDP implementation...I'm quite a newbie in lan game programming...which one's faster? Coz' we have a bad network architecture and we get lags all the time.

I need all the help I can get. If you have sample code or programs I can start with that you'd freely share I'd appreciate it a lot. Thanks.

Why not just a text based prototype in Perl?

Just use UDP and call it a day. Have the user choose the category and then the dollar amount off the board...

Or use Flash...

Yup...UDP seems to be the better implementation.

I'm also tryin' it in Flash. Thanks.
