Jet Database Problems ?

By McCabe ·
On reboot of my PDC (NT4-SP6a, reapplied), Im seeing he following in the event log. Each of the following in double brackets is it's own event, but Im typing them here one at a time for clarity (hopefully!).

Event ID 8, Source: Jet
((167)) the database engine 04.909.0000 started
((146)) the database engine 04.909.0000 started

Event ID 16, Source: Jet
((167)) the database is running recovery steps
((146)) the database is running revovery steps

Event ID 69, Source: Jet
((167)) redoing log file \winnt\system32\dhcp\j50.log
((146)) redoing log file \wins\j50.log

Cant find any technet articles to help explain this. I know what these logs are and what they do, not sure what is happening. Looks like they are getting toasted for some reason. Any ideas ?

Jet Database Problems ?

by ronny.lydou In reply to Jet Database Problems ?

After installing a new BDC server with the Wins service I had the same problem. I'm also using SP6a without any hotfixen.

Every day my servers are rebooting. The problem with this server was that the power supply was connected to a power outletwith a clock. The power from the server was incorrectly cut off and after rebooting i recieved the same message.
When the server was rebooting after a normal shutdown and reboot I didn't recieved any of those messages again.

So, could it be possible that you have a situation where the power is cut before the server did a proper shutdown? That was the case at my site.

Good Luck
