We have recently had a systems upgrade to our ordering system.

System spec is Oracle10GR2 running on an AIX server. The appliaction runs on two oracle application servers and the application is accessed via a web console using Jinitiator

We receive the following error and Internet Explorer freezes when end users try to enter or retrieve data from our application

java.lang OutOfMemory
<<no stack trace trace available>>
This error message is at the bottom of the JavaConsole
We are using Internet Explorer as our browser ans Jinitiator version is

Can anyone shed any light on why the browser seems to freeze only on certain screens and how we would resolve this error.

Is the out of memory on the application server, database or local PC.
Any assitance greatly appreciated

We are experiencing the same issue at my company, especially when a user is attempting to navigate in screens with several line items. Clearning the Cache in the Jinitiator Control Panel helps, but only for a short peroid of time.

Putting in the -xms256 resolution to increase the maximum & minimum memory used by Jinitiator has helpded us but the application still eventually climbs to 256MB and crashes.
Have you tried using Java runtime 1.4, 1.5 or Java 1.6 instead of JInitiator?
Can anyone please assist in this matter?
