Job hunting 2010

My position was eliminated this past Aug 2009 and I am still looking for my next job. The position was outsourced to an exchange-hosting site along with a part time outside consultant. It is a small company with two offices one in Europe and one here in Miami. Total employees are about 120. My question is do you see this as the wave of the future that small companies will outsource email to hosting companies and consulting firms that offer part time employees? Should I still even learn Exchange 2007 or learn VMWare? I have started my MCTS/MCITP certification. What is your advice, any input will be helpful.
