Job Interview tomorrow..

By Shellbot ·
Wish me luck..and cross yer fingers for me.

As usual, the panic is just setting in now. I know it needs to be done, but the technical tests really throw me. I panic and go blank. Its one thing to sit at your desk and bang out a few queries, stored procedures and eff around. If i do forget something, simple, look at what i did last week, or pop open Books Onlne for a second..say to yourself "self, you are such an've done that 100 times you could you forget"

But its another to sit with a pen and paper and do this stuff knowing the answers you give dicate if you get the job or not.

The last interview i did..blanked and couldn't even remember how to write a conncetion dang embarrassing was that?? (very )

WHy can't I win the lotto? Would be so much easier.

We NEVER win the Lotto. That would be too easy.

Try these simple steps to dealing with the tests...

Alcohol of choice- A wee dram (or 50) should be the right amount. Just enough to manage the cranial seizure.

Prayer- a simple one will do. Along the lines of "Don't MAKE me come up there and kick your @ss!". That one always works for me.

Stop and breathe. Oxygen is your friend.

Remember who the winners and who the losers are. You are the winner. If they are too stupid to see that, they are the losers. It's just that simple.

Go kick tail, girl. I know you can. And know too that we are with you all the way!

Edit- My spelling skills are about crap this morning!

to refresh my skills after a period of not doing it. Haven't had stage fright yet, but exhibited extreme nerves in other ways.

Remember they should be nervous as well, after all you are inteviewing them to see if they are a suitable employer.

I have a list of questions to ask my chance to put them under the microscope as well..I don't suppose they'd appreciate it if I made them fill the answers in on paper for me?? :)

I always get a bad case of nerves, no matter how many times I tell myself "don't worry, you have a job, they have a vacancy..they need you more than you need them"

Good luck!

You will do fine. Once a jackpot hits $100 Million USD, I will usually buy a ticket or two. I could not win a raffle if I was the only one who entered :_|
