Recruiter hit me up today on positions in Orlando, Florida. I am not interested, but perhaps some of you are:

Network Security Engineer will experience working in a large corporate server environment. Hardware experience must include Ethernet connectivity, hubs, switches, DHCP, WINS, DNS, and Wide Area Network Topology. He/She will be responsible for proactive monitoring of secure configurations, collecting security events from devices and servers, and providing reports on security events. Duties will consist of configuring all company approved security monitoring applications to monitor and log activity of users, servers, switches, routers, firewalls and other network devices. This position will also be the focal point for change control for the Infrastructure team. He/She must be a team player that can work in a dynamic environment with a wide variety of diverse technologies. Some travel may be required.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



Audit

Backup recovery.
Server resource Access.
Review Web, OWA, SMTP, FTP, Server event, device event, firewall, router, and switch logs.
Security Log archival
Document processes for setting up security monitoring and reporting.


Database and information management. Keep up to date information in:

Security log archival databases
Email and data archival database settings


Reporting

Executive level security reporting ? top level view of network security
Websense and firewall reporting
Net IQ Security Suite
Security Event reporting
Security reporting on network devices and servers access
Change Management

Track change management for security policy
Adjust security monitoring to support smooth change control
Monitor changes after the change
Work with monitoring group during and after change to ensure continued operations


The following support may also be required

Support all Network Infrastructure ? Cisco switches and routers and firewalls
Support Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 server and desktop environment.
Hands-on configuration of Cisco firewalls, routers, switches, and VPN?s.
Work with LAN/WAN circuit provisioning.
Required to assess requirements for analyzing, designing, building, and operating security/ network architecture.
Required to work in a complex Quality of Service IP configuration environment.
Prepare and implement formal project management plans, (Eg:) Microsoft Project.)
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in a dynamic team environment.
Required to write a weekly status report and to perform any other duties as assigned by management on an as needed basis.
Required to complete tickets in the infrastructure help desk queue.
Keep management/ Help Desk informed of any adverse situations and or problem situations in a timely manner.
Required to document all procedures, update manuals to include new policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

5 years experience in 50 user plus LAN/WAN environments.
Strong in Active Directory and Windows security.
Can use and read Log files, Network monitors, probes, and Network reporting programs such as Net IQ Security Suite, Websense.
Knows cscript/windows host scripting.
Knows how to create batch files.
Knows TCP communication and port communication.
Has a desire to want to learn and certify in newer and later technologies.




EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:



Cisco Certification
Security Certification
5 years experience implementing and maintaining LAN/ WAN networks.
Proven experience with Internet protocols TCP/ IP/ HTTP, FTP, VPN Telnet, SSL, SHTTP & VLANS.
Network protocol Analyzer abilities (Sniffer).


LANGUAGE SKILLS:



Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals; professional (hospitality) journals; and governmental regulations and RFPs. Ability to write reports, general business correspondence, departmental budget justifications, marketing/promotional plans, and procedural manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other managers, clients, and/or customers.



MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:



Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages.



REASONING ABILITY:



Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.



CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:



Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, MCSE

Certified Information Systems Security Professional, CISSP is a plus but not required



Any other certificates, licensees and/or registrations commensurate with our operation would be helpful but not required.



OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:



? Ability to use personal computer and standard business software (including Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Office, and Outlook)

? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

? Presentation skills

? Team oriented

? Possess an orientation toward detail, accuracy and organization

The employee must occasionally exert or lift up to 20 lbs. Successful performance requires specific vision abilities that include close vision.
