Your problem is not a function of the operating system, it's a function of the email client and how attachments are formatted for sending.

Does the problem occur only with with attachments from this one sender (who coincidently happens to be using ME)?

To enable the correct format:

In Outlook | Tools menu | Options | Internet Email tab - Make sure MIME is selected (not UUENCODE). Also select "Allow 8-bit characters in headers".

This should fix your problem.

Thanks for the suggestion - the MIME was already selected. Selecting the Allow 8-bit characters on heading did the trick. Must have been the only obtion I didn't have clicked.

Have the person who has the Windows ME try this, (And by the way, I have ME and have never had a problem sending pics to anyone running 98b, but then again I always do this one thing I am about to tell you) have the person with ME first save the picture in "retouch" or depending on their photo software program could be called something else. Then after you save it in retouch, then save it to jpeg. Let me know if that helps or not. I may still have another trick up my photo sleeve....heh heh.
