jujrmjvd.exe ?

By JustAnAdmin ·
Hi all,

I have a system that has a program in the startup folder, but I can't identify what the program is. It is running the file jujrmjvd.exe (located in the system32 folder on a Win2k machine) and I can't find a reference to this file in the searching I have done on the net.

Does anyone happen to know what this is? We have had some issues with the PC that this is running on, so I would like to confirm whether or not this is a legitimate file that should be running, or if this is part of the problems we are seeing.

Thanks for your help!

If it were part of Windows, you'd find a reference to it.

"vd.exe" (maybe a video driver)? DO you have a camera or any other kind of hardware that you attach to this computer?

At any rate, you can always remove it from the startup folder (even temporarily) and see if the problem goes away.

When in doubt... Remove the startup link and see if anything doesn't work. Also, did you try looking at the EXE with an Hex viewer or Quickview or ResourceHacker? If it doesn't have some type of version info, I'd get rid of it.

Add your name to the file extension both the shortcut and the file,(so you can keep track of it)this will make the file useless, leave it to see if any programme misses it, if note you can remove or deleete the file, sounds rether suspicious to me.good luck

The file was listed in the run key of the registry, along with a couple of others that were suspicious. I went ahead and backed up the registry, then removed the suspect entries.

Since then, everything has been fine. Still have no idea where thatfile came from, or what it is. But, at least the problem is resolved.

Thanks for all of your input.
