Just starting a job as a recruiter HELP!

By joshbishop82 ·
Hi all,

Just started a job in IT Recruitment in Dublin, Ireland. I have a little IT background, mostly working in IT Helpdesk type environments. The kind of jobs that i'll be handling will be Software Developement and Software Engineering along with Technical Writers and Quality Assurance people. My question is....how do i find out by looking at a CV if someone is qualified or has the pre-requisites for a given job. There are so many abreviation, acronymns ect in the IT world that I dont know what they all mean. Please email me at joshbishop82@yahoo.ie if you can point me in the right direction. Thanks.

First get a book of acronymns, check this website, barnes and noble, amazon, etc. . Next when you look at a CV and they look qualified check their references, any lies-to the circular file. Check out sites like Monster.com, Careerbuilder.com, they offer advice on interviewing canidates for hiring. But above network with other recruiters and find a mentor!
