Kaplan University ad campaign…

by boxfiddler . Updated 17 years, 8 months ago

The link below is to a recent advertisement for Kaplan University. At first careless listen, it seems innocuous enough. One line, towards the end of it ends any sense of the innocuous – at least for me. “It’s time the university adapted to you, rather than you adapting to it.”

http://talent.kaplan.edu/intro.aspx

If, as a species, adaptation to our environment is what allows us to survive, even thrive, how is it we consistently seek to apply the opposing principle and expect it will work in our favor as opposed to bringing about our downfall?

As an educator, and an online educator at that, I find that particular line unnerving.

Nitpicky? Maybe. Maybe not.

What do you folks think?
