KB Stops after AT powe supply rplced

By Casemaker ·
Hi,
I replaced an at power supply with another at power supply. Now the keyboard does not work. I had to disconnect the serial cables that plug onto the board. I am pretty sure I plugged them back correctly. I did mark them but got confused when putting them back. I dont think these cables have any affwect on the older type mouse. It is not a ps2 mouse rather the older type with the 5 pins. Where should I look.
Thank You

If this is the only thing that dosnt work try using a different keyboard.
If other things dosnt work as well make sure you connected the power supply wires on the motherboard where they belong. the 2 black wires in the middle.

Hi heres acouple of things to try you could leave the serial connectors off just to see if that is causing it, you'll have know mouse but at least it will tell you if the serial connectors are the cause.

Next check the k/b connector has not broken the solder joints I guess that you disconnected the k/b when you replaced the psu.

Best Regards

Rich

Thank You!
I removed everything and checked all solder points with a magnifier. Nothing was moving, they all seemed secure. When I put it back together it worked.
