KDE and DCOP server

I downloaded the update files on SUSE 8.2.The machine crashed and I had to shut down from the mains and restart. when I came to restart after the login Kde said
error setting up interprocess communications.
could not read network connection list
/home/petercound/dcopserver_linux_0
please check that dcopserver program is running
It then refused to go any futher.

You could try:
Try going to single user mode, 'init 1';
Delete every file in your $HOME directory that starts with: '.DCOP' and
restart KDE. If that doesn't do it, [as root] delete everything in:
"/tmp/" and reboot.
