Keeping email rules active

By gpwn ·
Does anyone know how to keep rules active in Win XP, Outlook 2003? Mine won't run unless I go in and manually do it. No matter how many times I click them to activate them they are always unclicked when I go back. Thanks.

Keeping email rules active

by thomas.raju In reply to Keeping email rules activ ...

I am using Win XP and Outlook 2003.
After creating rule, tick the checkbox of the rule name and Apply.
Rule remains active and I do'nt have to manually activate every time.

That was a given. I know how to set them up but they don't stay active. Anyone else have an idea?

rules on Outlook 2003

by ashij In reply to Keeping email rules activ ...

did you recently upgrade from Outlook 2002 to 2003, then you will have to recreate all the rules to make them automatically apply to mesages.
Are you connecting to an Exchange server?

Did that too.

Yes I did just upgrade and I did re-create all of my rules. Yes, I'm connecting to an Exchange Server. I think I'm going to have to try deleting then reinstalling XP. Any more ideas out there?
Thanks :&gt

before you Reinstall anything ...

Hey.. I would still suggest you try some small things before you go ahead with your OS re-insatll.

1. Close outlook (make sure to check in task manager that its completely off)
Delete your profile from Outlook
(Control Panel-> Mail)

2. if deleting profile doesn't work, Uninstall then restart your computer.
Delete all files under "C:\documents and settings\<youruserprofile>\local settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook"
Then, install office again.

I pray this fixes your problem.
