keeping the xp service pack

By buddyg1965 ·
Is there any way to download all the windows xp hotfixes and save them to use again when needed? If so, how ? Can I save the hotfixes already installed to be used again?

As a general rule, you cannot save installed software or updates for reuse.

You can download and save most of the Windows updates.

You can either use the Download section of Microsoft.com and search for XP downloads, or you can use the Windows Update catalog:

http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/catalog/en/

For may updates, you can download the file by clicking on the read more link in the updates list.

I download the updates etc as files from

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/search.aspx?displaylang=en

This area is to allow system managers to downlaod the patches and updates once and then give access across their lans, use the search engine to find the patch/update you want and then save it to your hard drive and run it later.
