Kepler’s dust cover ejection.

by keithdavis429 . Updated 17 years, 4 months ago

The animation shows the Kepler scope dust cover ejecting by force of a spring release hinge. Question: How does the spacecraft deal with the reaction moment force of the ejection? From our observation the dust cover swings open to the right. How does the spacecraft keep from veering off to the left from apparent torque generated by the spring hinge?
