Kerberos

By d.jones092 ·
Anyone ever run across event id 537 on Win2k Pro? I'm seeing this error throughout my security log. In checking www.eventid.net , there are suggestions to enable Kerberos event logging in the registry. One of the other things mentioned in the log are the possibilities of a forged SID on the network.

Has anyone ever heard of this before? If so, are there any good overviews on Kerberos and how it works?

Thanks for any info.

Dennis,

I did read something about the time being out
of Sync between your Domain Controllers can
cause this error and how to fix it

I'm not sure if that is the issue your having, but
worth looking into.

You can find enabling the kerberos logging:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid
=http://support.microsoft.com:80/support/kb/ar
ticles/Q262/1/77.ASP&NoWebContent=1

And a good explaination of kerberos at:

Hope this helps.
