Kernel32.dll Error

Hi, When ever i try to open internet explorer in win98 i get an error regarding kernel32.dll and then i get the blue screen. Can anyone please advice what can be done to resolve this issue?.

post the exact wording of the error message. could be lots of causes. what has changed lately? (windows updates?) what new hardware? how is anti-virus? does it do it in safe mode. try this:
make sure no viruses
update to latest drivers for video, sound especially.
try Start/Settings/control panel/add/remove programs/internet explorer/repair

You can also try restoring the kernel32.dll and explorer.exe file and also repairing the internet explorer.
Better run the system file checker to know which files have been recently updated.

If you installed any new software and started getting this problem, uninstall it and see.
Also try registry repair--it can also help
