Keyboard & mouse stop working -NT Server

We have an NT 4.0 Server that boots up fine and works perfectly for a while but for some reason, after a while the kayboard lights start flashing and both the keyboard & mouse stop working. The server runs fine and we can still work on it via remote access tools but it is very frustrating & I cannot seem to find a solution.
I have checked the connections etc. and these seem fine?
