I have recently built a new system. The volume controls do not work at all on my keyboard or remote. They worked on my previous system just fine. But now they do not.
HELP!?!!?? PLEASE
Inte Duo Core 2.4GHz
eVGA 680i motherboard
Windows XP Professional SP2+
I have installed all of the latest chipset drivers, and hardware device drivers.
I was originally using the HD Onboard Audio with the motherboard when I found that my Cyberlink remote control, and MS Keyboard volume functions didnt work. All other media functions are working just fine on the remote and keyboard, such as pause, play, next, stop, just not the volume up and down.
So I thought it just might be that I am now using a pci sound card or something. So i cracked open the case on my previous pc and installed the Audigy2 ZS into this new system.
After installing all of the software drivers and update patches.. I have ran into the same problem.
I have contacted Cyberlink, Creative, and eVGA. They all just blame each other for some strange reason or another. I just don’t know why the volume controls wont work.
The only hint I have found is that when I use a program called Cyberlink Power Cinema (also known as Dell Media Experience) The volume controls will work upon a fresh reboot. However, if I open Windows Media PLayer, then the volume controls stop working (and WMP is my preferred method of playing media files)
Then i went back to the cyberlink and tried the volume controls.. They didnt work.. but it just flashed “SPDIF” on the screen. So i rebooted and the power cinema worked again. But Windows Media PLayer or Games still refuse to resond to my keyboard volume controls..
Is this a codec problem.. or a decoding software problem? I’m clueless at this point and I would very much appreciate any type of help of suggestions.
Thanks in Advance
