Keyboard stops when win2k loads

By act ·
I deleted a virus (PWS-XPPASS)that McAfee detected. When I rebooted the system the keyboard would not accept an input to the password logon. Replaced keyboard and also ran the repair for Win2K - no change. Loaded another Win2K O/S in a diff directory and it loads ok with keyboard responding ok. Anyone know of a way to get the keyboard responding under the first O/S - I have a lot of programs loaded and hate to go through the process again.

Keyboard stops when win2k loads

I'm not sure if this will work.
Boot into the second OS. Under device manager go
to the properties of the keyboard. Note down the
drivers (they should probably be 'kbdclass.sys' &
'i8042prt.sys'). If not write down the correct
names.
Then openwindows explorer.Copy these drivers from the SECOND OS directory to the FIRST OS directory into the respective path. Reboot into
the first OS.
You should be able to browse to first OS from the
second OS.
Hope this helps.
