Keys not functioning

Hello guys, I would appreciate it if someone knows how to fix my problem.
I have a * 330S-15IKB Laptop (ideapad) – Type 81F5 * and I am running windows 10, some keys just stopped functioning (e.g 1 2 3 4 7 8 9 0 f10 ) and I don’t know why, I didn’t install anything new. Thanks in advance.

I am uncertain what caused the issue, sounds like something on the keypad failed. Since it only affects the number keys, it doesn’t sound like the entire keyboard went bad. I don’t know the cost to replace a keyboard, but unless you are mechanically inclined I would suggest to take the laptop to a repair shop to evaluate and estimate the cost to fix. I doubt it is a software issue if the other keys work without trouble.

Have you tried plugging in an external keyboard to see if it works without the same issue ??

thanks for your answer, No I didn’t try an external keyboard but I will since today other keys stopped functioning, I’m writing this on the on-screen keyboard btw.

In most cases, this is caused by mechanical failure of the keyboard. For that, you need to replace it with a new one.

Here are few things you can do to solve this issue.

Clean your keyboard there could Dust, dirt that can obstruct the movement or working of the keyboard.

If the keys on the number pad don’t work try to press the Num Lock key.
