Killing a thread in Windows 2000

By shastrymahesh123 ·
I have a Windows 2000 Advanced Server running Oracle 8.x. I want to kill an unnecessary thread from the Oracle process. I do not want to kill the Oracle process itself, as Oracle will terminate. How do I go about killing a specific thread instead ofthe process itself, in Windows 2000?

From the Windows Task Manager, Process tab, Click View, select columns, check PID (process Identifier). Find the process you want to stop. Than from the Comand prompt type Kill # where # is the PID number. If this fails, located a utility PVIEW in the Resource Kit.
