<a href="http://www.nopworld.com/">NOPworld</a>, a?leading market research organization
explores global media habits like reading, searching internet, listening to radio
& watching TV. Interestingly <font color="#ff0000">India leads in Reading with
a great score of 10.7 hours per week(hr/wk)</font>, while the <font color="#a52a2a">global

Yahoo closes user created rooms in its chat service

by kiruthik In reply to Kiruthik's Blog on Techno ...

<body xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<p>
Yahoo closed a part of its Chat room service, where users can create their own rooms
and will be displayed in the User Rooms section. And when you are entering into user-created
rooms column, it warns that "the topics found here may be?offensive ..." and
if you agree only, it will allow you inside.
</p>
<p align="center">
<img alt="Yahoo Chat Warning : While we are trying to get into Yahoo User created rooms..." src="http://www.kiruthik.com/content/binary/yahoo_user_room.JPG" />
</p>
<p>
The problem?started off is due to,?KPRC-TV in Houston reported that the
service was absued by people,?means <font color="#ff0000">countless men tried
to display pornography with children</font>...?
<br /><br />
That may be true, but what will happen to other Non-Sex content, useful rooms??? There
were?tons of room plying daily, and users get help like advise... Even I have
given and I have got advise too....? I hope yahoo will change its stance towards
this issue. They can put a word filter, etc., to handle the situation.....

Google Earth

by kiruthik In reply to Kiruthik's Blog on Techno ...

<body xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<font face="Arial" size="2">
<p>
After a month, MSN announced its <a href="http://www.kiruthik.com/MSN+Virtual+Earth.aspx">Virtual
Earth</a>, the search engine giant released its own version called, <a href="http://earth.google.com/">Google
Earth</a> ( beta ), which is a advancement of Google 's Mapping (KEYHOLE), which allow
users to search for a location to get an aerial view of that place.
</p>
<p align="center">
<img height="299" src="http://www.kiruthik.com/content/binary/google-earth_loading.jpg" width="444" alt="Google Earth Loading image" />
</p>
<p>
Like <a href="http://www.kiruthik.com/MSN+Virtual+Earth.aspx">MSN Virtual Earth</a>,
Google also offers many features like satellite view,..... It lists Banks/ATMs, Schools,
Movie Rentals, Hospitals, Churches, Restaurant, Airports etc., Its a 100% GIS Application,
but the images will not be a map, but it will be of Aerial & 3D view. I clicked,
Hard Times, a movie rental Shoppe, and it showed the address.
</p>
<p align="center">
? <img height="490" src="http://www.kiruthik.com/content/binary/google-earth_portland_bank_lodging.jpg" width="556" border="0" alt="Google Earth, SnapShot" /><br /><br /></p>
<p align="left">
Like we bookmark web pages in a browser, we can also bookmark a place. And if you
search for a address, it will find the area exactly, and shows the image with the
Latitude & Longitude points. Like GIS applications, they split the area with the
same Layer concept. For e.g.., I selected Shopping centers in the layer, in few seconds,
it showed many shopping centers with a $ symbol. Likewise I tried lodging & banks.
</p>

<img height="420" src="http://www.kiruthik.com/content/binary/google-earth_portland_selected_shopping_centers.jpg" width="557" border="0" alt="Google Earth, SnapShot" />
</p>
<p align="left">
It comes in 4 editions, but as of now, the free one is not available for download.
And if you are that much interested, then go for <a href="http://earth.google.com/earth_pro.html">Google
Earth Pro</a> Trial, which is available for download.

10000 plus freshers marched towards Sathyabama for TCS recruitment fair

by kiruthik In reply to Kiruthik's Blog on Techno ...

<body xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<p>
Three weeks after the indian IT giant, <a href="http://www.tcs.com/">Tata Consultancy
Services Ltd., (TCS)</a>?announced its <a href="http://infotech.indiatimes.com/articleshow/1148634.cms">plan
to recruit 13,500 people</a>,?today as per its schedule,?they conducted
written test for 2005 passouts(basically for MCA,?MSc & BE) in <a href="http://www.sathyabamauniv.ac.in/">Sathyabama
University</a>?campus, Madras. As it was a Off Campus recruitment, majority of
the IT freshers from all over the state (TamilNadu) attended it. And the main reason
is due to its brought down temperment in the eligibility criteria, which is 60% &
above, and?generally?it will be 65 % or 70% in marks.
</p>
<p>
I was there for 1/2 an hour around 9 in the morning?and took few pictures from
my new mobile, <a href="http://www.kiruthik.com/Nokia+6260+Comes+Into+My+Life.aspx">Nokia
6260 </a>!!! Actually i thought, it?was a mess due to the crowd. But it was not.?Senthil
Raja, a good old friend of mine told me that they have organised in a neat way. And
I had a talk with few more people who came for the exam, and they also confirmed it.
</p>
<p>
It was a long queue, nearly 2 kilometers from the campus entrance, from 5am!!!! Even
candidates who registered after 6:45 in the morning got 1pm?& later batch
to appear for?the exam. Sudha, a MCA fresher & a school friend of mine said
that they provided Lunch and she too confirmed that the arrangement was good &
which cannot be?compared to few of the Off Campus recruitments happened this
month by some other IT companies(MNCs).?
</p>
<p>
Today my company, <a href="http://www.saksoft.com">saksoft</a>?also had the same,
but it happened in our office premises in Mandaveli, Madras.
</p>
