Klez.H.Worm infections

By NatCat ·
I am using inoculateIT 4.53 on my network, which is currently infected with Klez.H worm in its many varieties. I have the software configured to delete any infected files . This was what the people at CAI suggested because "..klez H is a worm and a worm cannot be cured.."
Is it true that a worm can't be cured ony deleted , or can other products like macafee and norton CURE this worm ?

Norton has a tool at the following URL to remove the Klez virus: http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.klez.removal.tool.html.

With McAfee, I believe you have to use their command-line scanner to remove KLEZ and sometimes you have to reinstall McAfee afterwards because some versions of Klez delete some McAfee files.

Hi,
The fix klez tools are from the same vendors and are free. Why you don't use these tools?
Since Klez renamed some of your exe files you can't recover them.
All you can do is to clean\repair your systems and use a good and regulary updated antivirus.
A good antivirus if can't cure an infected file then it denied access to this file.

If the infection is really big ( even norton av don't run as well )i think you need to make the infected hard disk a slave to a computer whose norton av is already updated and has a fix for klez. Run Norton AV and scan the infected files, then uninstall norton and install it again.
