Ok,I put together my pc using the KT7 mainboard w/ 1 gig AMD Thunderbird,IBM ATA100 HHD,Kenwood True x 72X CD ROM.300 watt power. Had problems,Booting up,System Errors, and many others.I couldnt download programs from Cd without getting FATAL ERROR EXECPTIONS.etc…I had a good Tech look at my system and he determined the mainboard had a bad Header.Ok I send the KT7 back to JC Shopper and ask them to exchange the KT7 for a KT7A mainboard, they do so for me at no extra cost.I get it and not wanting to screw anything up I have my Tech reinstall everything,we turn it on and hear it running we get the Beep and were ready to go.WRONG only a black screen, its not reading the video card.We try a different pci slot,no change,we try a AGP card, nope! System shuts down after a min. of being turned on.After shuting down a few times we take the fan and heatsink off the CPU to look and we see its been OVERHEATING.We think over voltage, but not sure cause we cant get a screen.I have been screwing with this for 21/2 MONTHS.Anyone else having problems with Abit boards?Im almost ready to eat the cost and go with something else.
